More New York
Some flawed shots that I thought were kinda neat.
Past Images
These shots were taken with my old Digital Canon A-80 with flip screen. On this trip to New York, I started to really enjoy photography. It was mainly due to the freedom from film costs that digital allows that let me shoot just for the fun of it.
These were 4 megapixel shots but I think the quality of the images holds up against the 8 megapixels of the 20D.
Of course, when shooting an amazing city like New York, it's easy to take nice shots.
Chinese Lantern Festival
Ok, this was pretty cheesy but really no cheesier than anything found at acutual Hong Kong lantern festivals. This is at Ontario Place, where apparantly workers from China came over and set up all the displays. This was the cultural event of the season for my parents. Whoopee.
Lighting conditions were not good, especially for a novice like myself. After some disasterous attempts shooting in the dark, I think I found a solution when I stopped trying to conquer the lighting to make shots that just weren't there and just going with shooting bright objects overexposed and the night sky....well just black.
Hilton Falls
This is a wild mushroom in Hilton Falls, just North of Milton in Campbellville. Some really neat light conditions. It was really sunny but in the forest it was quite shaded, so where the light breaks through the contrast is very sharp.
Duomo Milano
This is a shot of the Duomo in Milan. It's on the roof.
Welcome to the MOJOPHOTO
Welcome to my mojo photo blog. I recently picked up a Canon 20D (that Canon is replacing with the newer yet almost completely the same 30D). This is an amazing camera. I am not a decent photographer, but this camera will make anyone a much better photographer. Anyways I want to use this blog to track my progress as I (hope) to get better at shooting stuff and anyone who's interested can check out what I've been shooting.
